"No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn." Hal Borland
On Thursday it was 71 degrees and yesterday a spring snow storm threatened to bring back winter. Happy First Day of Spring! I haven't posted for a week, Tuesday I recorded a poem for the local public radio station to be aired in April for National Poetry Month. I also saw Avenue Q on Tuesday which starts with this song
I thoroughly enjoyed the play and thought the cast did an amazing job!
Today I am thinking about the crocus that had just started coming up when it started snowing...a writing prompt. What would happen if spring skipped its turn? Write a poem or the beginning of a story about a year without spring. It might help to brainstorm for fifteen minutes about spring...what do you look forward to every spring? what would you miss? how easy would the transition be from winter to summer? Now get back to work!
